Description
A steep, rocky, south-facing slope at about 2000 ft elevation, this vineyard is a textbook Syrah terroir. Extremely rocky, even by our local standards, covered with large volcanic rocks and (very little) red clay topsoil.
Our 2010 was a ‘European’ style vintage, with temperatures cooler than usual and occasional rains throughout the growing season. This resulted in medium bodied wines showing a great deal of elegance, nuance, and complexity. This Syrah is no exception.
