Description

This 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich, powerfully structured, very concentrated wine, still inchinging towards its “full maturity”, which, in our estimate, it should reach in 5-10 years.

Saying that it is an a-typical Cabernet for California would be an understatement: Uncompromisingly terroir-driven, with no makeup or embellishment whatsoever,  it defies the norm of ‘everything upfront’ wines, which seem fully mature at a young age and collapse shortly thereafter. At the age of 25, it still takes more than 24 hours after being uncorked to fully expand and open up.

13.4% Alcohol.

Note: This wine has been stored in the winery cellar since its inception. That is a dry cellar, and the corks are often brittle and crumbly. Use caution when uncorking, preferably using an ah-so type opener or, even better, a “Durant”  .
