Description
The 2019 vintage of our Carte Blanche brings us back to the Sierra Foothills.
A co-fermentation of 50% Viognier, 35% Sauvignon Blanc, and 15% Semillon, it was 100% foot-stomped and fermented on its skins/stems in an open-top fermenter, exactly as we make our reds. While being light in alcohol, it is high in acidity, concentrated, and intense, with a strong presence and a long finish.
This wine is very attractive right now, but holds the ability to age further for a decade or two, should you want to.
Continuing in our recent tradition, we allowed a small amount of lees to get into the bottle, giving the wine a little extra protection and enhancing its aging potential thanks to the reductive quality of the lees.
Alcohol: 12.5% Total SO2: 35 mg/l added at crush, 35 mg/l added at bottling.
