Description
With 2016, after five years of sourcing grapes for our Carte Blanche in Lodi, we begin our “migration” back home, to our area of the Sierra Foothills. For this vintage, we mainly used fruit farmed locally, at the Renaissance vineyard, with a smaller proportion of Lodi grapes.
A co-fermentation of Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne, and Semillon, this wine brings us back closer to the original varietal blend we used in the early vintages of Carte Blanche. It was 100% foot-stomped and fermented on its skins/stems, exactly as we make our reds. While being light in alcohol and body, it is also richly textured and flavorful, mouth-filling and deep. Complex and refreshing.
The grapes were organically grown by our friends Aaron & Cara Mockrish at the neighboring Renaissance Vineyard, and Markus Bokisch in the low rolling hills east of Galt, California.
