Description

Texas Hill Road Vineyard is a one-acre Pinot Noir vineyard located a couple of miles east of our Home Vineyard, on the old road that leads from Oregon House to Dobbins. At 1700 ft elevation, it has an eastern exposure, and the soil is red clay (a.k.a. “decomposed granite”). We have thus far made three vintages of this wine – 2005, 2006, and 2011. It often appears more rustic and powerful in its youth than our “Home Vineyard”, but it ages equally well, displaying, in time, great complexity and harmonious texture.

Our 2006 Texas Hill Rd. Pinot Noir is medium-full bodied, rich, powerful, and complex. It has plenty of flavor intensity, density, and length. A long term ager.
