A typical Clos Saron Pinot Noir is a broad-shouldered, concentrated wine, with deep fruity flavors and complex, spicy-minerally-earthy layers. Powerfully structured and long on the palate, it will reward long cellaring and reveal its best qualities at the dinner table

Taste of Terroir in the Clos Saron wine:

  • Clay soil - black-cherries and rose perfumes, harmony, texture.
  • Volcanic minerals (volcanic ash, granite, quartz) - underlying "electric minerality" and spicy tension and a deep - rather than broad - muscular structure.
  • California sun - richness of fruit and texture.
  • Long growing season - complexity, fine grain, aromatic subtleties.
  • Cool mountain night air - delicate aromatic purity and vital acidity.
  • Lean mountain topsoil - low yields; concentration, mineral flavor elements.
Healthy, balanced ecosystem — Vibrant intensity of flavor.
